National Admission Exams
Applicants for the MA in German Studies are expected to hold a degree which is not necessarily in German Studies. To be fluent in German is also not a requirement. However applicants are expected to be able to read German texts in the original language – or commit themselves to achieve that goal along the first two semesters. In the terms of the Portuguese law, one can apply for any MA Course without holding a degree if he/she has a scientific or professional curriculum that attests his/her ability to follow advanced studies at this level. This should be attested by the scientific committee responsible for the MA Course (DR, 2.ª série, n.º 65, March 30, 2012 - Art. 23 (d) of the "Regulamento de Estudos Pós-Graduados da Universidade de Lisboa") which will decide on an individual basis.
