Objectives

Sustainable development is dependent on good management of living resources, only possible with the support of well-trained technicians and scientists. This MSc aims to prepare professionals with a solid background in Conservation Biology and Ecology. It should thus contribute to provide the country with experts capable of increasing knowledge about the composition and functioning of our ecosystems, information needed to exploit natural resources in a sustainable manner.

The MSc is aimed at graduates in biology and related fields who seek a complement of training that allow entry to the labor market, or to prepare candidates for a PhD programme.

The course provides students with advanced scientific and technical knowledge, and experience in field, laboratory, and analytical work. It focuses on the core areas of conservation biology, especially Ecology. At the end of the course students should have a solid understanding of ecological principles, wildlife and ecosystems of our territory, methodologies used to study them, principles and techniques of biodiversity conservation, and of management of ecosystems exploited by man.
