The Specialization Course implies the attendance of 3 annual courses, chosen from a wide and innovative range, and Introduction to Scientific Research Methodology (semester). The Master's in Law and Legal Science sessions take the form of seminars and the number of students per class is reduced.
Seminars are given by renowned professors from the Faculty of Law, one of the largest in the Portuguese-speaking world. They may also be given by specialists in the field, if invited by the professors.
Master's students will be assessed by means of oral presentations and written reports.
In the second phase, the Master's student elaborates and presents an original dissertation, under the guidance of a Doctor of Law.
The New Master's Study Cycle in Law and Legal Science aims at the deepening of Legal Science, allowing students to deepen their knowledge and skills in this field; the consolidation of specialized knowledge and the capacity for creation and innovation, equipping students with the tools and methods necessary to conduct scientific research within the scope of Law, fostering the spirit of enquiry and the production of original and relevant knowledge; stimulating critical spirit and professional ethics, encouraging reflection on the foundations and values underlying the Law.
