European Legal Practice
1
The New Master's Study Cycle in European Legal Practice aims at linking the deepening of at least two languages at a scientific level with the ability to work in different legal systems, with the goal of creating international legal experts. It consists of a specialization course, lasting three semesters, and the preparation phase of the Master's dissertation, lasting one semester, for a total of 120 credits (ECTS). This master's program was created under the Erasmus Mundus program by the Law Faculty of the University of Lisbon (Portugal), Leibniz Universität Hannover (Germany), University of Rouen (France), and Mykolas Romeris University in Vilnius (Lithuania). This master's degree results from a traditional cooperation model, called ELPIS, which involves 35 Law Faculties in almost all European Union (EU) member states and European Free Trade Association (EFTA) countries, dating back to 1985. These four universities make up the consortium that awards the master's degree.
This course offers students the unique opportunity to acquire scientific and practical experiences in foreign legal systems and foreign cultures. The goal is the acquisition and consolidation of comparative legal and cultural skills and proficiency in working with various European legal systems.
