Focused on the study of Greek and Latin languages and literature, the Degree offers students an interdisciplinary training in Classical Studies and is structured into three profiles: Classical and Portuguese Studies; Classic Heritage of European Culture; and Translation of Classical Languages.
The degree in Classical Studies offers training and promotes the acquisition of skills in three specific areas:
Classical and Portuguese studies, Classical Heritage and European Culture, Translation from Classical Languages. This 1st-cycle degree provides knowledge and training in reading, editing and translating documents and texts produced in Latin and Greek; the study of Classical roots of European culture; Medieval and Neo-Latin literature produced by Portuguese writers; Classical influences in Medieval, Renaissance, Modern and Contemporary writers; and essential knowledge for the teaching of Classical and Portuguese languages and literatures.
