Offered jointly by the Faculty of Arts and Humanities and the Institute of Social Sciences of the University of Lisbon, it covers four fundamental areas and their intersections: Anthropology, History, Linguistics and Literature. The Master in Brazilian Studies provides a dynamic integration between the humanities and the social sciences, allowing, simultaneously, a transversal specialization in the scope of Brazilian Studies and a pre-specialization in each of the areas involved.
The Master in Brazilian Studies is a transversal program, hosted and created in joint collaboration by the Faculty of Arts and Humanities and by the Institute of Social Sciences of the University of Lisbon. It is the result of a common awareness of the interrelations and proximities in the research conducted on Brazil in different areas and institutions of the University of Lisbon. It is a nationally innovative and interdisciplinary 2nd Cycle studies program, attractive to students who take an interest on all aspects of Brazilian culture, with special focus on four areas of research: Anthropology, History, Linguistics and Literature. Its main aim is to foster the dynamical integration between Humanities and Social sciences, offering, at the same time, a interdisciplinary specialization in Brazilian studies and a preliminary specialization in each of the four areas at stake.
