The degree in Psychomotor Rehabilitation aims to train psychomotricians (designation in the National Classification of Professions). The action of these graduates in professional fields of Health (Development Consultations, Psychiatry and Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine, Development Centers, Health Centers, and Mental Health Services), Social Security (Institutions for People with Disabilities, Residential Structures for Elderly, Day Centers), Education, Recreation, Leisure and Justice is increasingly relevant in the social and cultural context of Portugal, where there is an increase in the signaling of development difficulties that require different interventions throughout life. Psychomotor training aims to prepare professionals capable of intervening in different fields and throughout life stages.
a) Assess and diagnose psychomotor development
b) Design, implement and evaluate Psychomotor Intervention programs
c) Identify contextual factors conditioning psychomotor development
d) Guiding and advising in the areas of intervention of Psychomotricity, at the personal, family and community level
e) Provide basic knowledge of scientific research methodology
