This master provides the necessary knowledge to qualify as an organizational psychologist in accordance with the specifications of the Portuguese Psychologists Association (OPP). The program provides an understanding of all the fundamental psychological issues related to the behavior of individuals at work, combining theoretical knowledge on human resources, work and organizational psychology (PRHTO) with practical applications that can be implemented in organizations.
The master will enable students to develop a wide range of skills, methods and theories on the main applications of psychology in the context of business and employment. Areas of application include: organizational design; motivation and attitudes at work; labor relations and well-being; personnel selection, training and development. The program will emphasize applied skills to improve students' employability by helping them to develop the skills and knowledge of human resources, work and organizational psychology:
How organizations affect workers’ attitudes and behavior;
How and why workers differ in motivation, competence and productivity at work;
As recent technological advances are shaping the world of employment;
Why some organizations are more effective than others;
What working conditions avoid mental fatigue;
What determines the effectiveness of a team;
What is leadership;
How to develop a selection and a development system;
How to stimulate innovation.
