Microbiology studies microorganisms, namely their genome, cell function, diversity and evolution, essential to understanding the fundamental mechanisms of life. Técnico MSc in Microbiology studies the microbial community proposing applications for sectors such as industrial biotechnology, environmental recovery, energy production, human and animal health and in the food sector.
The Master Programme in Microbiology is a joint initiative of Técnico, Faculty of Sciences, Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Lisbon.
The Master degree in MICROBIOLOGY aims to provide a high-quality, technically and scientifically up-to-date training at the 2nd cycle level in the multidisciplinary field of Microbiology.
The training offered by the consortium of 4 ULisboa schools (Instituto Superior Técnico, Faculty of Sciences, Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Veterinary Medicine) aims to empower students with a holistic
view of Microbiology, integrating the most recent developments in the Omics sciences, from an entrepreneurial perspective, enhabling them to actively contribute to the resolution of current societal challenges.
It is expected that future MSc holders will have the appropriate skills to develop their professional activity
in industry and services, or to continue their studies at the PhD level.
