Financial boost for innovative ideas from the teachers, researchers and students across the Unite! alliance

The Unite! Seed Fund aims to achieve the maximum potential of Unite! It is envisioned to provide financial support to innovate, co-creative and collaborative ideas from teachers, researchers and students across the Unite! alliance. The Seed Fund intends to support exploration and development of attractive and diverse activities and projects, to help secure either the additional funds for a project or to carry out cooperation on joint, ambitious and innovative ideas within the alliance.

All applications will go through Metacampus, Unite!'s digital platform. Applications open on 15 March 2023 and deadlines for submissions vary from 15 to 31 May 2023 depending on the topic of the proposal.

The aim of Unite! is to be an innovative, collaborative, inclusive and sustainable alliance. Through its ambition to realise excellence in education, research, and innovation by creating new opportunities, Unite! University alliance invites the entire Unite! community (Teaching staff, Teaching and learning units, Researchers and research Units, Students and student associations) to send proposals of collaborative projects for its first round of Seed funding. The funding is open to all subjects and topics and is aimed at both in-person, hybrid, and purely digital formats.

“The seed fund is the new initiative of  Unite! Alliance to stimulate and support bottom-up proposals by teachers, researchers and students for collaborative activities and can help in forming sustainable academic and student communities across Unite” says Andreas Winkler, Unite! Secretary General. Dr. Anshika Suri, Unite! Seed Fund Manager, adds “The seed nature of this funding has the potential to activate and stimulate co-creative activities such as joint research projects, study offers, blended intensive programmes, extra-curricular or intercultural activities organised by students, long-term collaborations in teaching and/or research units such as workshops or symposiums, amongst others diverse activities!”

There will be one call annually for Unite! Seed Funds for funding measure in Teaching & Learning and Research & PhD. Unite! Seed fund will have bi-annual calls for funding measures on Student Activities. The funding decision is expected by 30 June 2023.
