Universidade de Lisboa and Lisbon’s Municipal Council have partnered in order to set up field       hospital with a capacity of 500 beds at the University Stadium of Lisbon.

The goal is to move patients with other pathologies that are now at the Santa Maria’ hospital.

The Instituto de Medicina Molecular, from ULisboa Faculty of Medicine, and the Faculty of Pharmacy have also partnered against the COVID-19 pandemic  and will be able to delivered at 1000 Coronavirus’ diagnostic tests per day.

Universidade de Lisboa went even further through  your  international network  and partners in China, with whom the University has been establishing cooperation partnership in the fields of Education and Research, identifying suppliers that have materials able to protect and fight the virus making easier  the communication between chinese companies and the Portuguese Health Service.

Lisbon’s Municipal Council, Sport Lisboa e Benfica and Sport Lisboa e Benfica – SAD have also joined on that initiative, making possible to donate one million masks and 40 ventilators, as a result from ULisboa’ privileged contacts and the Sport Lisboa Benfica  donation of one million euros.

Instituto Superior Técnico from Universidade de Lisboa has also joined this cause and is producing medical visors for hospitals.

A team of researchers from the Mechanical Engineering Department in Instituto Superior Técnico (Universidade de Lisboa) has developed and is producing medical visors for protection of the COVID-19 infection, through 3D printing. The produced and arranged visors will be delivered to hospitals.
