This cycle of studies (CS) aims to: (1) develop specialized and in-depth knowledge on Inclusive Education, namely toadvance available research on inclusion practices in education, considering educational diversity, focusing on groups insituations of vulnerability (physical, cognitive, sensory, emotional, academic, economic, social, cultural), and on modelsand practices of training (initial, continuous, specialized) of professionals for the development and innovation onInclusive Education; (2) to promote and strengthen diagnosis, intervention and evaluation skills in Inclusive Education,available among Portuguese society, particularly among professionals and educational organizations or organizationswith educational missions; (3) create, at ULisboa, a multidimensional problematization of Inclusive Education and toencourage its systematic study in educational contexts.
With this CS it is intended that students are able to: (1) master the state of the art on Inclusive Education; (2) understand Inclusive Education in its multidimensionality (political, organizational, curricular, pedagogical/didactic); (3) conceive, design and carry out empirical research and innovative intervention projects, which respond to relevant issues within the scope of Inclusive Education and the contexts of its practice; (4) select and apply advanced methods of qualitative and/or quantitative analysis, suitable for studies in Inclusive Education; (5) integrate projects, networks or research and professional intervention teams, national and international, associated with the theme.
