Environmental Engineering at Técnico is an multi and inter-disciplinary scientific area that cross-relates traditional engineering skills and technologies with social, economics, land use, planning and management and other environmental related knowledges to provide multiple research and innovation opportunities founded upon solid oriented environmental engineering, enabling integrated solutions to environmental problems driven by sustainability challenges and priorities.
Objectives
The main objective of the doctoral program is to provide the students with advanced and high quality education in the Environmental Sciences and Technologies, enabling them with the capacity to develop research work at academic or enterprise levels.
Career prospects
Holders of a PhD degree in Environmental Engineering will be employed in Higher Education institutions, R&D laboratories and companies, environmental consulting companies.
National Admission Exams
Holders of an MSc degree or its legal equivalent, and the holders of a 5-year degree;
Holders of a 5-year degree, with a particularly relevant academic curriculum that is recognized by the Scientific Board of IST as attesting his/her ability to attend the programme;
Holders of an academic, scientific or professional curriculum that is recognized by the Scientific Board of IST as attesting his/her ability to attend the programme.
