The 2026 edition of the Scientific Meeting (Jornadas Científicas) will take place on 16 June, at the Pavilion of Portugal.

Jornadas Científicas 2026

This year’s Scientific Meeting is under the theme ‘Scientific Cooperation in a Changing World'.

The University of Lisbon is strengthening links between institutions, sectors and borders, fostering education, research, and innovation. At the 2026 edition of ULisboa Scientific Meeting, it will be discussed how these dynamics are transforming cooperation: reflecting on who we partner with, how these collaborations take form, and what aims they intend to serve.

This event explores partnerships between universities, the public sector, industry and other strategic entities, at national and international levels, integrating discussions surrounding universities’ roles in R&I, the necessity of coherent internationalisation strategies and the positioning of ULisboa at the European Research Area.

Through these debates and interactive sessions, we aim to promote the sharing of experiences and best practices, reinforce impactful networks, and reaffirm cooperation as a strategic driver for the future of science, innovation and shared knowledge.

ULisboa’s Scientific Meeting 2026 will also provide an opportunity to recognise and celebrate merit and the innovation of ULisboa’s scientific community, through the presentation of the following awards:

  • Three Minute Thesis (3MT) ULisboa 2026
    This award recognises the top contestants in the three-minute doctoral thesis presentation, promoting clarity and impact in the communication of science at ULisboa;

  • ULisboa’s Scientific Awards/CGD 2026
    These awards celebrate scientific production of excellency across different areas of knowledge, contributing to enhance the visibility and prestige of research conducted at ULisboa.
