Schools of the University of Lisbon offer shared curricular units in entrepreneurship and innovation

Aimed at undergraduate, master's and doctoral students at ULisboa who are looking to develop new skills and new entrepreneurial ideas, the programme offers free enrolment in curricular units from various ULisboa schools, with the award of credits.

How to sign up

  • Students must fill out a specific form on Fénix or at the Academic Services of their School of origin;
  • The Academic Services of your School of origin will then send your form to the school of destination, which will confirm the existence of a vacancy and enrol you on Fénix;
  • The attendance of classes, the timetable, the system of absences and the student’s assessment are processed in accordance with the regulations and pedagogical and assessment practices in place at the destination School.

1st cycle – BS degree

1st semester:

Science Entrepreneurship, FC

This CU brings together students from various areas of science and technology to discover the world of Entrepreneurship and Innovation, with a focus on the future of the labour market, and the importance of the entrepreneurial mindset for professional success.

Cultural Management, FL

This CU introduces students to methods and practices for managing entrepreneurial projects, starting from the concept and its conceptualisation, through contextualisation and elaboration, to its completion. These methods are geared specifically towards the cultural sector and creative industries.
Schedule: 
Class 1: Tuesday and Thursday 12:30 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Class 2 schedule: Monday and Wednesday 11:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

Entrepreneurship, IE

Teaching and learning about Entrepreneurship all in one! This CU enables students to create an innovative and collaborative project in the field of education and training. What are the main aspects to consider? Idea, format, objectives, representation, marketing and budget.

2nd semester:

Entrepreneurship for Sustainability, ISEG
This module enables students to identify and validate business ideas and models that focus on sustainability issues (environmental, social and corporate), by developing a business model and presenting it via a pitch.

Class 11: Mon (10:00–12:00) and Wed (9:00–11:00)
Class 12: Tue (9:00–11:00) and Fri (8:30–10:30)
Class 13: Wed (9:00–11:00) and Fri (10:30–12:30)

Entrepreneurship & Innovation, FMH

This CU aims to  train and raise students' awareness about the importance of entrepreneurship and innovation as the driving forces of the economy, providing students  with the tools and skills that will enable them to set up their own business in the future.
3-credit module lasting 3 hours (1 lecture + 1 tutorial)

Science Entrepreneurship, FC

This CU is open to all of the 2nd cycle fields of study , where raising awareness about the importance of linking scientific knowledge to the world and society is the key factor.

Design Management and Entrepreneurship, FBA

This course aims to increase students' competitive potential as market players: To provide students with a correct perception of the market and an informed reflection on the role of design in the economy, and to introduce them to management strategies and tools.

This CU presents the tools needed to identify, test and mature business ideas developed through the methods of business plans and business model canvas.Timetable: Wednesday (9.30am – 11.30am) (9.00pm – 11.00pm)

Social Entrepreneurship, ISEG

This CU introduces the concepts of social entrepreneur and social entrepreneurship, the definition of types of entrepreneurships, and social ideas for social opportunities.

Project Management and Entrepreneurship, FMH 

The PME CU aims for students to acquire the techniques and tools for managing business models and designing products and services. With this CU, students will learn to respond to the constant challenges facing society in a sustainable, integrated and involved way.
Timetable: Classes of 3 to 4 hours (a total of 35 hours) operating within the following schedule - Fridays 1.30pm - 5.30pm or 5.30pm - 10pm (with a half-hour dinner break), Saturdays 9.00am - 1.00pm or 1.30pm - 4.30pm.

Technology-Based Entrepreneurship, IST

This CU focuses on the interaction between technology, engineering, social/frugal innovation, and aims to create and distribute goods, services, replicable models and programmes that respond to the social needs of vulnerable individuals and communities around the world.

Entrepreneurial Mindset, FC

A CU focused on helping students elaborate their projects in a context that allows them to bring society closer to their areas of study, with topics such as the analysis of the financial perspective and sources of funding gaining prominence throughout the semester.

Product and Process Innovation, FBA

Consolidation of the principles of Design as an Innovation methodology - what it is, how it is practised, different levels and contexts of application. Acquisition of knowledge in creative and supportive methodologies in the Design process, as well as operational skills by using Design as an Innovation tool.

The University of Lisbon encourages interdisciplinarity, favouring student mobility between the various Schools (Rectoral Dispatch No. 17/2022).

 
Training in entrepreneurship and innovation is provided and encouraged for all students at the University of Lisbon. Whenever the curricula of study cycles include the possibility for students to attend elective courses in scientific areas different from the core of that study cycle, spots will be made available in entrepreneurship and innovation courses for internal mobility and enrollment by students from any school of the University of Lisbon (Rector's Dispatch No. 161/2022).
