The Association of Portuguese Speaking Universities (Associação de Universidades de Língua Portuguesa, AULP), is an international NGO that promotes cooperation and exchange of information between universities and higher education Institutes. With about 140 members from the eight Portuguese-speaking countries (Portugal, Brazil, Angola, Mozambique, Guinea-Bissau, Cape Verde, Sao Tome and Principe, East Timor) and Macau, the organization is devoted to the mission of facilitating communication between members in the aim to strengthen educational opportunities and spread the use of the Portuguese language throughout the world. Its objective is to help stimulate research, encourage student and teacher exchanges, and promote awareness and participation by sharing news on a daily basis and organizing conferences and events.
