Developing skills in Nursing in Rehabilitation that enable the student to take care of the person with special needs throughout the lifecycle, in all contexts, empowering the person with disabilities, limiting activity and / or restricting participation for reintegration and exercise citizenship, maximizing their functional capacity.
Develop skills that allow you to learn autonomously throughout life, contributing to the planning and implementation of Rehabilitation Nursing interventions.
Develop skills, respecting professional ethical-deontological principles, in the decision-making process, in complex and unpredictable situations of Nurse Rehabilitation in order to implement specific and general care of excellence.
To confer skills that enable the student to pursue the essential objectives of the 2nd cycle of studies in higher education.
Graduates of the Master's Degree in Rehabilitation Nursing are awarded a master's degree, level 7 of the QNQ, and if they hold the professional title of nurse, with two years of professional experience and have completed the Internship with Report modality, they are eligible to apply to the Order of Nurses for the title of Specialist Nurse, since they have the specific and common skills for specialised nursing care in highly complex situations, for the leadership of care and teams, the production and dissemination of scientific knowledge and the development of innovative solutions applied to practice in Rehabilitation Nursing. They may develop their professional activity in three different sectors: the public sector, the private sector and in private practice (health centres, hospitals, clinics, companies, schools, centres for the elderly, rehabilitation clinics, among others).
Access and ingress
Candidates who meet one of the following conditions may enter:
• Hold a Nursing Degree with at least 240 ECTS, or legal equivalent, obtained from a Portuguese higher education institution;
/
• Hold a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing with at least 240 ECTS, awarded following a 1st cycle of studies organized in accordance with the
principles of the Bologna Process by a State adhering to this process
Teaching activities take place mostly in the after-work regime, some of which may be diurnal. The internships are diurnal or in shifts, following the activity of the guiding nurses.
