UMAIS Summer School 2026 – Urban Mobility and Healthy Ageing: Innovations for a Sustainable Future is an international programme organised by the University of Lisbon in partnership with Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, supported by EIT Urban Mobility. The initiative aims to explore how cities can tackle challenges regarding ageing population through solutions of applied and inclusive mobility.

5th MOPT Conference

The programme will take place from 6 to 17 July 2026, in two European cities: Lisbon (first week) and Barcelona (second week). Throughout these two weeks, participants will have access to lectures ministered by experts, workshops, field visits, and opportunities for collaborative group work, providing direct contact with two innovative urban ecosystems. Summer School brings students, researchers and professionals who are interested in approaching mobility challenges associated with increasingly ageing societies.

During the programme, interdisciplinary teams will work on real-life challenges and develop innovative solutions to improve mobility and accessibility for ageing populations. Summer School will conclude with a final presentation session, during which the projects developed will be presented to a panel of experts from academia, industry, and public entities, with a prize awarded to the most promising proposal.

Early-bird applications will be open until 1 May, while standard applications will be open until 30 May. Further information about the programme and application form can be accessed here.
