The University of Lisbon (ULisboa) marks an important milestone: one year of the Pavilion of Portugal as a space for connection with society. A place where science, culture, innovation, and public participation gather to take new forms.
To celebrate this path and plan what is to come, the University presents Experience the Future (Experimenta o Futuro). An event that transforms the Pavilion of Portugal into a vibrant hub of ideas, meetings, and discoveries in a four-day programme not to be missed.
The celebration of a space that brings University and society closer
Over the last year, the Pavilion of Portugal has established itself as a meeting point between the University of Lisbon, the city, the country and even the world. It became a space where knowledge flows, research is open to the public, culture meets new languages and innovation takes shape. This first anniversary marks not only a review of our progress, but an impulse for the future.
Experience the future: four days to live what is to come
From 21 to 24 May 2026, the Pavilion of Portugal will be transformed into a living organism: hectic, inquisitive, and alive with questions that don’t do not require permission to exist. Over four days, this space will be alive with ideas, spark action and bring discoveries to light, with an invitation for the public to get actively involved.
The programme gathers talks, immersive experiences, artistic moments, scientific demonstrations, and proposals that cross disciplines. It is an invite to explore, question and imagine new possibilities.
An open invite to participation
Experience the Future enhances ULisboa’s commitment to create spaces of dialogue and public participation, bringing together science and everyone’s culture. Each visitor is invited to discover something that drives them: a question, a story, an experience, a meeting.
One year later, the future keeps opening doors
With this event, ULisboa reinforces the Pavilion of Portugal’s mission to act as a place for gathering, experimenting and collective construction. A place where the future is not predicted:
