Environmental Engineering (ULisboa and SHU)

The objectives of the Degree in Environmental Engineering are to train engineers to identify environmental problems and challenges in their various aspects and identify systems, processes and technologies that allow the implementation of appropriate solutions. The design of solutions to address environmental problems will be developed considering a sustainability framework, integrating the multiple environmental subjects with the needs of social and economic development. In order to achieve these goals students should master basic theories in physics, mathematics, chemistry and biology. These subjects will allow to further develop more specific professional expertise in the areas of environmental assessment, conservation and protection of natural resources, product recovery and recycling, pollution control, mitigation or remediation and, management and environmental monitoring in various sectors, including water, air, soil and associated ecosystems.
