The Auditorium’s stage of the Centro de Congressos (Congress Center) at the Pavillion of Portugal will present Science in three minutes. On 21 May at 5pm, the final of the 4th edition of the 3-Minute Thesis Competition (3MT ULisboa) is set to be a heated one!

This year’s 12 finalists of the 3 Minute Thesis Competition take the stage for a challenge that might look simple… but it isn’t. They must to present years of research in just three minutes with a single slide. Using the power of words, they must make any person, regardless of their field, understand the reason on why their work matters.

The premise is quite simple: communicate Science with clarity, confidence, and, evidently, lots of good energy. It must transform a thesis into dialogue, and knowledge into connection.

In addition, we celebrate the merit and effort of those who dare to summarise what is complex. Each participant receives a certificate of merit, and the top three winners receive prizes of €5.000€, €2.000 and €1.000.

Beyond the competition, the 3MT ULisboa is an opportunity to practice the communication of Science, to cross fields and build bridges between the different worlds inside ULisboa, reinforcing interdisciplinarity and knowledge sharing.

Entrance is free of charge.

Knowledge only comes to life when it is heard.
