Biochemistry
The study program in Biochemistry at FCUL grants a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry with the following goals:
- To train and prepare professionals with a solid scientific background in life sciences, both at theoretical and laboratory level, with a strong orientation towards Research and Development.
- To lecture a core of topics in the areas of Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science in order to ensure that the students will acquire a body of basic scientific knowledge to tackle biochemical problems with a multidisciplinary approach. Courses at this basic level are mainly included in the first two semesters of the program syllabus.
- To deliver a broad and deep formation in many areas of modern Biochemistry, which is the necessary background for life science professionals. These specialized courses are mainly included in the second and third years of the program. There is a strong component of laboratory classes during these two years.
