Mexico, Colombia, Peru and Chile were on the itinerary of the University of Lisbon, which, between September and October 2026, reached out once again to Latin American students to showcase its academic offerings and the opportunities to study in Portugal.
In the blink of an eye, ULisboa reached Latin America
The journey began in Mexico on 26th and 27th September, continued to Bogotá on 3rd and 4th October, stopped in Lima on 8th October, and concluded in Santiago on 10th and 11th October. In each city, ULisboa took part in international education fairs, establishing direct contact with students interested in pursuing their studies abroad.
Throughout this tour, visitors were able to learn more about the University, clarify queries regarding degree programmes, application processes, and entry requirements, as well as discover the opportunities that Lisbon offers as an academic destination and an international city.
Home to 19 Schools and more than 450 degree programmes, the University of Lisbon provides a diverse educational range spanning various fields of knowledge. Its academic community, made up of students from over 100 nationalities, offers a multicultural environment where shared experiences and cross-cultural engagement are part of everyday university life.
“Being closer to students also means bringing the University closer to their projects and ambitions. These initiatives make it possible to showcase the diversity of ULisboa’s academic offerings and demonstrate that Lisbon can be the starting point for a truly international academic journey.”
Isabel França, Director of the Communication and International Relations Department at the University of Lisbon
This initiative is part of the University of Lisbon’s internationalisation strategy, enhancing its visibility in Latin America, fostering new student recruitment opportunities, and strengthening ties with a region with which ULisboa maintains significant academic and institutional relationships.
And the outreach to Latin America does not stop here. In March 2027, the University of Lisbon will return to Brazil, continuing its work in promoting its academic programmes internationally and engaging with prospective students.
