Online language and cultural competence courses open for ULisboa's academic community

As a member of the European Alliance, Unite!, the University of Lisbon is announcing the opening of several free online language and cultural competence courses aimed at students from all areas and academic levels.

These courses are part of the educational offerings catalogue on the platform Unite! Agora. It is a virtual collaborative space, which promotes academic, cultural, and educational exchange among the nine member universities of the Alliance. The initiative aligns with the vision of developing global skills and intercultural communication, increasingly valued in the job market and international professional sphere.

The offer includes disciplines such as:

Intercultural Competence (4.5 ECTS)
German as a Foreign Language – Debating and Discussion (3 ECTS)
Finland Studies (0 ECTS)
Polish for Academic Purposes I – Written communication (3 ECTS)
Polish for Academic Purposes II – Oral communication (3 ECTS)
Megacities – Virtual Intercultural Simulation Game (3 ECTS)
IELTS Writing Tutorial / IELTS Speaking Tutorial
English for academic studies (3 ECTS)
Working in virtual teams: Global competence for international professionals (2 ECTS)

Courses are 100% online, free of charge for ULisboa’s students, taught in English, and organised by several institutions of the Alliance, such as, Technical University of Darmstadt, KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Aalto University, and Politecnico di Torino.

Aside from deepening linguistic knowledge, these courses allow students to develop cultural and communication skills in an international community, offering a collaborative learning atmosphere among students of different European countries.
