ULisboa consolidates its position among the World's Top Universities in the NTU Ranking

Nationwide, ULisboa ranks first in 17 of the 25 disciplines evaluated, excelling in areas such as Environment and Ecology, Animal and Plant Science, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Energy Engineering and Management, Environmental Science and Engineering, Immunology, Neuroscience and Behavior, Chemistry, Psychology and Psychiatry, Geosciences, Mathematics, Physics, Space Science, and Social Sciences.

On the global stage, ULisboa ranks among the world’s top 100 in two strategic areas: Animal and Plant Sciences (70th place) and Civil Engineering (100th place).

The institution also once again ranks among the top in Portugal in 4 of the 6 major fields of knowledge analyzed: Agriculture, Engineering, Natural Sciences, and Social Sciences.

Published annually since 2007, the Performance Rankings of Scientific Papers for World Universities (NTU Ranking) evaluates the world’s top 1,200 higher education institutions, basing the ranking on scientific output over the past 11 years. The ranking is based on three pillars: Scientific Productivity (25%), Research Impact (35%), and Scientific Excellence (40%).
