ULisboa Scientific Journeys 2026: call for submissions is now open

The University of Lisbon builds bridges between institutions, fields, and borders, boosting teaching, research, and innovation. At the ULisboa Scientific Journeys 2026, the University of Lisbon will provide a forum for reflection regarding how these dynamics are transforming cooperation: with whom we collaborate, in what ways, and with what goals.

The event will explore partnerships between universities, the public sector, industry, and other strategic entities, both nationally and internationally, while discussing the role of universities in R&I, the necessity of coherent internationalisation strategies and ULisboa’s position at the European Research Area.

In this context, ULisboa invites professors, researchers, technical and administrative staff, as well as students to submit proposals highlighting best practices and success stories in scientific cooperation, illustrating impactful partnerships – whether local, national, or international – to be shared during the event.

Applications will be open until 18 May 2026 and may fall into one of two categories:

• Partnerships in Action – dedicated to international collaborative projects: interinstitutional partnerships or University-Industry, internal interdisciplinary initiatives, and co-creation stories with the public sector;
• Research and Innovation by PhD Students – focused on projects with international co-supervision: intersectoral projects (industry/public sector), as well as stories of innovation and knowledge transfer.

Selected proposals will be briefly introduced throughout the full-day event, promoting the sharing of experiences and discussion among participants.

Participation in these journeys provides an opportunity to raise the profile of collaborative projects and practices, contributing to the improvement of scientific cooperation at ULisboa and at the European Research Area.
