The University of Lisbon is participating in the new edition of UNITE! Sustainable Mobility Forum, a European initiative that brings together partner universities to discuss the challenges and solutions of sustainable mobility in an urban setting.
University of Lisbon takes part in European forum on sustainable mobility
Throughout this series of online seminars, taking place from 17 April to 17 July 2026, students will have the opportunity to contact professors, industry experts and political decision-makers, exploring central topics such as innovation in engineering, public transport policies and strategies for cities resilient to climate change.
The programme, set to be entirely in English, is part of the Unite! Alliance, and was designed for students in fields such as engineering, urban planning, transport and logistics, awarding up to 12 ECTS credits (depending on the home university). Participation is free of charge.
Training for sustainable mobility challenges
The forum aims to enable participants to comprehend the complex links between mobility, accessibility, sustainability, and climate resilience. During the sessions, further global matters that influence this sector will be discussed, such as artificial intelligence, pandemics, and the growing usage of big data.
Aside from technical knowledge, students will also develop essential skills such as critical thinking, informed debate, and assessment of innovative solutions, analysing the actual impact of new approaches to mobility.
Participation of Técnico ULisboa
Técnico ULisboa will take part in several sessions. Highlights include:
- 8 May 2026 – Noise nuisance around airports in urban areas, by Dr. Baptista
- 19 June 2026 – Session conducted by Prof. Moura (topic to be announced)
Online application period is open until 17 June 2026. The forum is entirely online, with every session taking place via Zoom.
This initiative reinforces the University of Lisbon’s commitment with internationalisation and to training professionals capable of tackling sustainability global challenges, by promoting innovative solutions for more efficient and resilient transport systems.
