ULisboa students (from the 2nd year of their bachelor's degree to doctoral level) can participate in the European Students' Assembly, which will take place from April 20th to 22nd, 2026, at the European Parliament in Strasbourg. Registration for the 2026 edition is open until November 2nd.
The European Student Assembly (ESA) is the flagship initiative of the EUC Voices Erasmus+ project and aims to give students a voice, strengthen links between European university alliances, promote participatory democratic processes, and encourage young people to get involved in European political life.
Designed to bring together approximately 250 students from across Europe each year, this event provides a unique platform for selected European students to explore key issues facing the European Union, sparking impactful debates and promoting intercultural exchange.
Students from more than 60 existing European university alliances can participate. At ULisboa, we are part of the Unite Alliance!
ESA 2026 participants will collaborate on eight key debate topics and develop a set of policy recommendations. The Assembly will be followed by a series of outreach events bringing together stakeholders and decision-makers, where students will defend and share their proposals with actors from various levels of government, businesses, NGOs, and other organizations active in European political life.
Students interested in participating have the opportunity to apply as participants or coordinators, contributing to one of the Assembly's discussion panels. The selection process is conducted collaboratively by EUC Voices partners and European University Alliances, ensuring a transparent and inclusive approach. The selection criteria give priority to students who are passionate about European politics, culture, and society, along with the motivation to engage in meaningful dialogue, share their perspectives, and make a positive impact in their communities.
Who can apply:
- Students enrolled at a higher education institution belonging to one of the 65 European University Alliances.
- Students who have never participated in ESA may apply as participants and/or panel coordinators.
- Students who participated in the previous edition of ESA as coordinators are not eligible to apply.
- Faculty members are not eligible, except for PhD candidates.
How to apply:
- Applications must be submitted online using the application form by November 2nd, 2025, at 23:59 CET.
- Please consult the Manual and selection guidelines.
