The University of Lisbon (ULisboa), through its Tropical College (CTROP), announces the launch of the first edition of the ULisboa-CTROP Awards, designed to recognise and honour the best Master’s and PhD theses carried out at ULisboa relating to tropical regions and completed in 2024/2025.
This award aims to recognise scientific excellence and innovation that contribute to the sustainable development of these regions.
Award
The award is worth:
€250 for Master’s dissertations;
€500 for doctoral theses.
The award is governed by the Regulations.

- Cristina Máguas, Ciências/ULisboa
- Representative of one of the ULisboa schools
II. Social Sciences and Humanities
- Andrea Valente, ISCSP/ULisboa
- Jorge Malheiros, IGOT/ULisboa
- Representative from one of ULisboa’s schools
Applications
Interested parties should submit their complete theses, together with an abstract (using the form) and a letter explaining why the work has an impact on tropical regions, to the email address direcao.ctrop@ulisboa.pt
The deadline is 30 June 2026.
