As part of the project Unite!Widening, of which the University of Lisbon is a member, a call has been launched for the creation of training courses meant for researchers in the beginning, halfway through and at the end of their academic career. This call aims to enhance skills, encourage international collaboration, and support professional growth in the context of the European Research Area.

This call invites professors, researchers, and experts from partner universities of the Unite! alliance, including the University of Lisbon, to submit proposals for training sessions, which will be included in the Widening Training Series for Researchers. The main goal is to build a practical and dynamic program that:

  • Improves essential researching skills, such as, academic supervision, career management, project planning and international scientific cooperation;
  • Boosts the exchange of procedures among universities of different countries, including the participation of high-performing non-Widening institutions.
  • Strengthens long-term cooperation and research networks within and outside the Unite! alliance.

The series of training courses is compliant with the four scientific strategic areas identified by the project (Health & Biotech, Urban & Resources Sustainability, Circular Economy & Materials, and Digital & Autonomous Technologies) and encourages the use of practical examples of those areas in the proposed modules.

Travel and accommodation fees of the selected participants as lecturers will be covered by Unite!Widening, in addiction to benefiting from the expansion of professional networks among the nine member universities of the alliance.

The call is open until 2 February 2026, and is available in English, with further information and technical details on how to submit proposals on the official website of the project.

ULisboa reaffirms its commitment to the continuous development of researchers with this initiative, as well as building a more inclusive and collaborative European research area.
