University of Lisbon will provide 6 exclusive opportunities for PhD students and Early Career Researchers to be a part of Unite! Widening Training @UPC 2026 which will take place from 26 to 28 May, in Barcelona.
Hosted by Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, this Unite! Widening’s international training programme will gather participants from various European universities. As each institution is offered a limited number of positions, vacancies are particularly competitive for ULisboa’s community.
The 6 positions are reserved for members of ULisboa interested in developing key-skills for contemporary research, such as:
- Transparency and open science practices;
- Promotion of gender balance in academia;
- Cultural diversity management in international teams.
These Training Series merge interactive sessions, workshops and networking moments, allowing participants to both acquire essential skills and to establish connections with researchers from across Europe.
The participation is free of charge, including meals and social activities, though formal registration is required and a process of selection will take place, given the limited number of vacancies available. Overall, the event will count with a restricted number of participants per university, reinforcing the exclusivity of this experience.
For ULisboa, these 6 vacancies represent an opportunity to further internationalise its academic community, as well as to equip young researchers to meet the challenges of a more ethical, inclusive and collaborative science.
