Unite! Research School 2026: Inspiring the Next Generation of European Engineers

From 11 to 15 May 2026, more than 200 participants, including master’s students, PhD candidates, researchers, professors, and industry representatives will gather for the third edition of the Unite! Research School, an international programme of advanced training promoted by the European university Alliance, Unite!.

The initiative, organized by Politecnico di Torino, will begin and end at the Italian institution’s main campus, with its central activities taking place in Santuario di Oropa, in the heart of the Alps. The inspiring setting reinforces the educational, cultural, and scientific natures of this unique European experience.

The 2026 edition of Unite! Research School is structured around three major essential thematic pillars for the European technological and scientific development:

Digital Transition: focus on Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity and Industry 4.0;
Energetic Transition: including Sustainable Energy, Smart Cities, and Water Management
Enabling Technologies: with special mention of Space Technologies and Biological Engineering

The high-level programme combines specialized lectures, cross-cutting skills courses, networking sessions, forums with industry leaders, visits to laboratories and companies, as well as team case studies, to foster the dialogue between academia, research, and the productive sector.

As a member of the Unite! Alliance, University of Lisbon will select candidates among master’s and PhD students, in order to represent the institution in this international initiative. The active participation reinforces the presence of ULisboa in the research and innovation European board, enabling its students and researchers to establish contacts, expand knowledge, and deepen professional networks with academic peers and leaders in cutting-edge technology sectors.
