Foi cofundador do Center for Dynamical Systems and Nonlinear Studies em Georgia Tech, sendo também seu Diretor. Foi Editor chefe do Journal of Differential Equations e editor de outros nove jornais sobre matemática. Foi Diretor do Lefschetz Center for Dynamical Systems durante muitos anos e cofundador do Center for Dynamical Systems and Nonlinear Studies em Georgia Tech.
